Eyví Chair

This project was carried out for Ahrend, with the goal of developing outdoor furniture for office workers. The balcony at the Workplace Vitality Hub serves as the test and reference location. The lack of functional outdoor workspaces reflects a broader challenge in today’s office environment. More and more organizations are striving to create healthy and inspiring workspaces that support employee well-being, but there are still often insufficient facilities for working outdoors.

The Eyví chair is ergonomically designed and tailored to meet the needs of users. It is also created with circularity in mind, reducing waste and CO2 emissions through a production process that utilizes 3D printing with recycled materials. Additionally, the chair features a small, user-friendly table and privacy screens. The chair also includes a swivel base with two functions: it can rotate away to avoid sunlight (on the laptop screen) or rotate towards others for collaboration.

Both desk and field research were conducted for this project, along with the phases of the product development process, including the idea, concept, and materialization phases.
