Deep Dive Breakfast session

We would like to invite you to our next Deep Dive Breakfast session about Healthy Lighting and Data physicalization.

Date: 14 December 2023
Time: 8:00 – 10:00 uur
Location: HTC-85, Workplace Vitality Hub

Healthy lighting

Light entering our eyes affects many aspects of physiology, like the regulation of “body-clock” rhythms and alertness. Since people spend most of their time indoors, the light experienced by a person is mostly defined by architectural daylighting and artificial lighting design.

Myrta Gkaintazi Masouti is a PhD student Built Environment of TUE and she'll report on her most recent research on this topic. Her aim is to help architects and lighting designers with making buildings that consider the healthy lighting needs of occupants. She tries to make better lighting simulation tools and investigates their limitations.

Data physicalization

Hans Brombacher’s research revolves around utilizing human-data interaction and data physicalization to improve the well-being of office workers and translate the collected data into easily understandable insights, providing valuable information to the users.

Recently, Myrta and Hans both did experiments in the Hub. On Thursday morning December 14th they will share their findings so far.

Additionally, students will provide an update on their research projects in an Open Space setting.

Program:

  • 8.00h: Coffee, tea & healthy cake

  • 8.30h: Presentation & discussion by Myrta Gkaintazi Masouti and Hans Brombacher

  • 9.30h: Open Space with Research student projects & networking

Registration is open until Tuesday, December 12.
